Desert Tan colour is a lighter tan colour than typical FDE (Flat Dark Earth), while Coyote Tan colour is darker than FDE. Coyote Tan colour is not exactly the same from batch to batch, sometimes it is darker and may easily mistaken for black. We will update the picture when the colour difference is large.
